School of Rock Rockville Centre Hosts Room Dedication Event to Honor WILL CALHOUN & DOUG WIMBISH of LIVING COLOUR:
Celebration and Performances presented by School of Rock Rockville Centre and Caelum Music Productions
On December 20th, 2014, School of Rock in Rockville Centre will officially
be honoring Will Calhoun & Doug Wimbish with a ribbon cutting and room
dedication ceremony. Along with the room dedication, School of Rock
Rockville Centre and Caelum Music Productions present a musical celebration
with performances from Troy, The Inoculated Canaries, Craving Strange and
of course Doug and Will.
Both will be in attendance for the dedication of the Will Calhoun Drum
Room and Doug Wimbish Bass Room as well as for the evening’s celebration
and performances. Will and Doug are accomplished musicians, known primarily
for their work with Living Colour, however also known for their extensive
session work with artists ranging from the Rolling Stones to Harry
Belafonte, and also their individual and collective solo projects. Behind
the scenes they actively support and nurture local communities with events
and activities that further youth music education. The event, taking place
on December 20th, 2014, will feature live performances and a meet & greet.

*Living Colour is a Grammy Award winning rock band best known for their
double platinum album, Vivid. Calhoun is a versatile drummer known for his
style that blends advanced funk fusion, drum-and-bass, and world percussion
with rock and metal grooves. Wimbish is a bass player known for his
versatility, use of bass effects, extended hand techniques, and is
considered a pioneer in hip hop bass playing for his work with Sugarhill
Records.*
